Mr. Dr. Hugo Fernandes Mendes, lawyer, deputy judge, scientist and director of Urban Management Advice at the Municipality of Amsterdam, is Chairman of "A Better World Foundation". We consider it a great honor that Hugo accepted this position!

“Ik ben geboren en getogen in Suriname. Na de Friedrich Stahelinschool en de A.T. Calorschool, ging ik als sportman naar Nederland. In die tijd was ik 100 en 200 meter sprintkampioen en kampioen verspringen en snelwandelen. Ik ontwikkelde mijn atletiek-carrière verder in Nederland en ben daar ook jeugdkampioen geweest.”

Who is Hugo Fernandes Mendes?

“I was born and raised in Suriname. After the Friedrich Stahelin School and the A.T. Calor School, I went to the Netherlands as a sportsman. At that time I was a 100 and 200 meter sprint champion and a long jump and race walking champion. I further developed my athletics career in the Netherlands and was also a youth champion there.”

Mrs. Ingrid Görlitz treasurer and founder of the Foundation.

Ingrid is the founder of this Foundation! Since 1990, she has been actively working, as a volunteer, to help the underprivileged among us where possible, to build a better life in this world. She has now built up quite a network and in this way has been able to mean a lot to her fellow man! Now, with the establishment of her own Foundation, a long-cherished wish, a dream, has been fulfilled for her. Ingrid, born in Indonesia, lived in Suriname and Miami and now lives in the Netherlands. She will CONTINUE the good work for the children and underprivileged people in the less developed countries!!

De heer Duncan Junker, Secretaris van de Stichting. 

Vanaf 2008 doet Duncan mee met het vrijwilligerswerk dat Ingrid op dat moment deed. Dit werk heeft zijn interesse gewekt. Sinds de oprichting van ABWF in 2012  is hij secretaris van ABWF. Gezien zijn gedegen kennis in de computerbranche is hij een onmisbare schakel in het geheel, reden waarom hij zich voornamelijk over dit deel van de Stichting ontfermt. Ook heeft hij de opleiding Digitale Video Producent afgerond aan de Hogeschool voor Multimedia in Amsterdam. De beelden die u op de website kunt zien, zijn hiervan de stille getuigen.

Mr Duncan Junker, Secretary of the Foundation.

Since 2008, Duncan has been participating in the volunteer work that Ingrid is doing. This work has aroused his interest. Since the founding of ABWF in 2012, he has been secretary of ABWF.  Given his thorough knowledge of the computer industry, he is an indispensable link in the whole, which is why he mainly takes care of this part of the Foundation. He also completed the Digital Video Producer course at the Multimedia University in Amsterdam. The images that you can see on this website are silent witnesses to this.
